MISSION & GOALS
Our Mission
Our mission is to improve the life of our community by building investment, connection and pride
on our main street.
ESMS Goals
- Build East Somerville as a thriving, safe, friendly neighborhood and commercial district
welcome cultural diversity and foster a variety of businesses
- Support existing businesses
create an increasingly stable and diverse local economy which serves and employs residents
- Create a cleaner, greener, pedestrian-friendly East Somerville
reflect community pride and character, and add to individual well-being
- Strengthen East Somerville storefronts
create a more inviting, customer-friendly atmosphere by improving signs and lighting and removing external grates
- Increase collaboration and connection between residents
expand opportunities and physical spaces for community gathering
- Promote East Somerville
encourage neighbors to support and celebrate the local economy; draw visitors and shoppers
